Surprisingly, this was quite an enjoyable easy read. Having seen the long film from 1972 I was expecting the book to be a bit long and dull but it was anything but.

There were however parts that were hard to grasp. The historical accounts about the ocean expeditions where hard to understand. Maybe that’s why both the 1972 and the 2002 movies don’t address this topic that much.

Other than that I enjoyed the fauna and flora of Solaris, the characters and their idiosyncrasies. Definitely a re-read but not very soon.
